OOB Records is an international independent record label located in the Netherlands. OOB stands for ‘Out Of the Box’, and was created when our sister label, Friendly Folk Records, was approached by a Prog Rock band from Portugal, (Heylel) who needed distribution for their final album. Unable to turn away this dynamic band, Kathy Keller, Owner/Founder of OOB Records/Friendly Folk Records decided to create a second label for this one-off release. Word spread quickly and within a few months OOB Records was set up as a registered, full service label, and new Artists signed on. We proudly represent bands, duos, trios, and singer-songwriters from a broad spectrum of genres. Progressive Rock, Singer Songwriters, Blues, Jazz, Alternative, Pop... the possibilities are endless, as long as the music is professionally recorded and of high quality production, we welcome you at OOB.

(If your music is purely Celtic Folk, Pagan Folk, Scottish/Irish Folk or Country, you would probably be a better fit on our sister label, Friendly Folk Records, or both labels might be recommended for maximum exposure. friendlyfolkrecords.bandcamp.com)

ABOUNT THIS TRACK:

HEYLEL (Portugal) had a career as a Prog Band from 2012-2020. The music of their final album, Presence of Mind (2020/OOB) is their smooth and mellow sound, with orchestral mixes of cover songs, including our favorite, 'An Old Man's Tale'. Unfortunately, the band broke up near the end of 2020, and their music is now only available. Since Heylel were the inspiration behind the Start-up of OOB Records, we continue to support their back-catalogue.
